Parallel Vienna 2026
From 9 to 13 September 2026, ARTCARE returns to PARALLEL VIENNA, this year with two adjoining rooms in Pavilion 13 at the Otto Wagner Areal.

The room features works by artists from this year’s Young Art Auction, which takes place on 1 December 2026 at the MuseumsQuartier, ARENA21. There is a concrete reason for this: until now, the only way into the SIMACEK ART AWARD was through nominations by professors at the participating academies. From now on, artists selected for the Young Art Auction will also be considered. The award is thus extending its reach beyond the academic setting and opening up to artists whose careers have not taken them through a class at one of the four academies.
Pavillon 13 Room 011
01Simacek Award Winner Editions (2022-2026)
In the adjoining room, ARTCARE and SIMACEK co-curate the presentation of the SIMACEK ART AWARD. The award goes to students and graduates of the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna, the University of Applied Arts Vienna, the University of Art and Design Linz and the Academy of Fine Arts Munich. Each award carries €4,000 and includes the production of an exclusive print edition.
As the award is presented every two years, there is no new call for entries in 2026. The room uses this pause for a first overview: on display are the editions of all award winners from 2022, 2023 and 2025. Sixteen sheets in a 50 × 65 cm format, designed by the artists themselves and produced as screen prints or digital prints in editions of 20.
